I came across this video on YouTube and really liked it!
It’s a video about big red push button on a quiet square in Belgium. The sign above the button had the text “Push to add drama”.

Whenever someone pushed the button, drama was added onto the scene. What type of drama? I suggest you watch the video 🙂

Cheap Dutch retailer goes undercover at Amsterdam International Fashion Week

Two weeks ago Dutch retailer Zeeman stunned many fashion gurus by going undercover at Amsterdam International Fashion Week.

They created a fake brand called ‘Frank’ and put on a show at the fashion week. Before fashion week even started they already ‘teased’ everyone in the industry about this new and exciting brand. They basically did everything they could do to create rumor around the brand.

Before the show and during the show everyone was excited, so imagine the look on their faces when at the end of the show the cheap retailers yellow and blue logo ‘Zeeman’ was shown on the big screen!

Sex sells… a house… | Sexy Aussie Real Estate Ads

What do lingerie models, guns and helicopters have in common? As strange as it may sound, they are all part of an ad for a house…

Yes, you’re reading it right, a house. Australian real estate agency NEO Property has taken a somewhat unorthodox approach to selling houses.

Real estate agents Ian Adams and Adrian Jenkins have made a mini movie for 15 Queen Anne Court in Queensland, Australia which features more close-ups of model Elle Polson than it does of the house.

Old Spice Guy is back!

In case you’ve missed it, one of my favorite people of 2010 is back, Old Spice Guy! If you don’t know who I’m talking about, check out my post on him and the ‘ Smell Like a Man, Man’ campaign. Just one of the best Social Media campaigns of 2010!

Anyways, so it looks like Old Spicey is back!
In a short YouTube video the spicy hunk has announced that he has returned for a new campaign to, as he says ‘inform the people on this crazy blue marble that we call earth how they or their man can use Old Spice to smell as fresh as the freshest-smelling places on earth’.

In normal language, he’s going to tell us all about the latest Old Spice product.

4 Social Media highlights of 2010

Now that we’ve reached the end of the year I started thinking about which Social Media moments pop-up while going over the past year.

1. Old Spice Guy – great brand engagement

This for me is number one. Simply because the Old Spice Guy campaign was such a viral success and there were a lot of failed and successful spoofs!

One of the things I really liked about this campaign was the timing. They created 186 video responses in such a short time frame, that is was almost a real-time response. Another thing I think was good (and is also something where a lot of campaigns fail at) is the fact that they found the right balance. The video responses were directed to anyone that tweeted him, from famous people like Ashton Kutcher to John Doe. He even had some advice for the US president.

This made his followers even more eager to engage with him and as a result with the brand Old Spice.

I think we will be seeing more of these fast paced campaigns in the future.

Walt Disney Parks and Resorts started a new campaign that focuses on all the fun memories people have of their visit to Disney World or Disneyland.

With this campaign Disney hope’s to remind people of the good times they’ve had when visiting one of the Disney theme parks.

Viral campaign for ‘The Last Exorcism’ hits Chatroulette

There’s a pretty girl hanging around on Chatroulette at the moment scaring people. The girl is part of a campaign to promote the latest horror movie ‘The Last Exorcism’.

For those of you that don’t know, Chatroulette is a website that pairs random strangers from around the world together for webcam-based conversations (source: Wikipedia).

Meeting people on Chatroulette can be fun, but when you meet this girl, it might not be so much fun anymore. I’ve seen the videos and I wasn’t really scared by the girl, but I loved the flabbergasted reactions of the people she was chatting with.
